Begining of the End... senior year.

01 It's kind of crazy to think that I'm a senior. Sure i'm extremely excited about the prospects of college, but at the same time, i'm a little overwhelmed. So far, and this is only the second week, this has proven to be my busiest year. Not only is there applying to colleges and keeping your GPA up, but there's also SAT scores to consider, scholarships to apply for, and majors to settle on. Up until this past summer, i thought i knew what i was gonna do: double major in business and psycology. However, now i'm not so sure.

I know that alot of students go through a few different majors before finally landing on one, however... i don't really wanna waste my time with that. I just want to go in with my intended major, put in my four years, and go from there. Going back and forth just seems like a huge waste of time and money.

Also, for those of us who didn't score so well on the SAT, there are scholarships that we have to start applying for. Who has the time to sit and write essay after essay for "why they think they deserve the scholarship?" AP homework keeps us busy enough. I just feel like colleges are not going to get the best idea for good students based primarily off of the SAT. I have a pretty high GPA with my lowest grade last semester being a 92B. If colleges looked at that first, i think that they would see more and more that while some students don't exactly test well, or learn material... in 25 mins, they invest a good bit of time in the subject until they do understand. Being a good student should not imply that they're smart, but that they put time and effort into their education.

It's just a little disappointing knowing that you can't get into your favorite college because your SAT score was not high enough.

With all that stress though, i still think that this year is going to be a good one. Productive if nothing else.

i'm so glad you have a blog!

you'll make it through senior year. and as far as switching majors, so much of your freshman and sophomore years in college are classes that you need for any degree so you'll have time to choose!
